Meltem Flat Weave Kilim Rug

Beautiful warm red, anis yellow, caramel and royal blue tones make up this uniquely patterned kilim rug.

This geometric patterned kilim area rug is handmade in Turkey from a 100% organic cotton and wool mix (softer than usual wool Kilim rugs!); sturdy enough for shoes, but soft enough for bare feet. The special flat weaving techniques have been passed down through generations. To make kilim rugs, multi-colored wool and cotton fibers are interwoven to create a flat, distinctive textile. The knots are then evenly shorn off, leaving a clean pattern behind.

Material: 100% soft wool & cotton, natural dyes.

Weave: Hand-knotted / hand woven. A substantial rug which if properly taken care of will last through many years of use.
